Meet the Holy Name Housing Team

Matthew Cavanaugh
Executive Director

Born and raised in Omaha with deep ties to the community, Cavanaugh spent many years in Illinois working in local government and homeless prevention and completing a master's degree at the University of Illinois of Chicago, College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs. His last position was Executive Director of the Nebraska Housing Developers Association where he received and administered development, technical assistance, and housing assistance grants from the Nebraska Departments of Economic Development and Health and Human Services as well as Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka and numerous private and philanthropic donors.  A committed and experienced champion for quality affordable housing and active supporter of the affordable housing and nonprofit communities, Cavanaugh served on the Holy Name Housing Corporation Board of Directors for the last 2 years. Cavanaugh also serves on the boards of Midwest Housing Development Fund, Housing in Omaha, and the Nebraska Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence.

Joe Vaughan
New Construction Supervisor

Joe has over 36 years' experience in the construction industry. Hired by Holy Name Housing in 1981, Joe was promoted from the construction crew to Rehab Supervisor. In 1995, Joe was promoted to Construction Manager of Holy Name Housing. In this position, he oversees all aspects of new construction.

Shawn Vaughan
Maintenance/Rehab Supervisor

Shawn joined the Holy Name Housing construction crew in 1983 as a carpenter. In 1995, he was promoted to the Supervisor of Housing Renovation. He now oversees the maintenance for Holy Name Housing's entire portfolio.

Diane Stuart
Controller

Diane started with the organization February 2016. She is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting. Diane has 25+ years in accounting and is a great asset to the organization.

Mary Anderson
Director of Development & Administrative Services

Mary's primary position is grant writing for the organization. Mary assists the Support Services and property management teams with their administrative needs. Mary comes to us with a 20+ year background in affordable housing which includes compliance, development and property management.

Lisa Stowe
Director of Property Management and Support Services

Lisa is responsible for all property management and compliance issues. Lisa started with Holy Name Housing in March 2016. She has 15+ years in the property management and administrative field.Director of Property Management and Support Services

Pat Albright
Construction Assistant

Pat is a longtime resident of the Holy Name neighborhood and joined the staff in 1996. He initially worked on renovation projects and is currently assisting the new Construction Manager.

Jean Romsa
Administrative Assistant

Jean recently joined us in May 2018. She comes to HNHC with a background in human services and administrative experience. She is the face that greets each person who walks through our doors and is the cheerful voice you hear on the phone. She supports Holy Name Housing staff with various administrative duties and loves working with our tenants and applicants!

Tamara Schaefer
Property Manager

Tamara started with Holy Name Housing in October of 2017. She has 15+ years in property management, with 8 of those years working in North Omaha in the tax credit program and also with senior housing.

Autumn

Autumn Williams
Support Services Manager

Autumn recently joined Holy Name Housing in October 2021 and comes to us with a background in human services. Autumn is passionate about helping the community and is excited to use her knowledge to support tenants. Autumn is responsible for all tenant support services. 

Jennifer

Jennifer DeRoos
Paralegal and Document Control Manager

Jennifer joined HNHC in 2019 bringing with her over 25 years of paralegal experience. Jennifer is responsible for real estate administration, site control, and land inventory, project development/closing due diligence, DED contracts, Special Conditions, environmental reviews, TIF grant applications, EEIP administration, and electronic document conversion/control/organization.

Leo (Duffy)Vaughan
Maintenance/Rehab Crew

Leo recently joined Holy Name Housing and will be responsible for all areas of maintenance for Holy Name Housings portfolio.  Leo comes to us with over 35 years of construction/maintenance experience.
